This jersey is from Paul's first partial professional season.
Cabana's pro debut followed quickly on the heels of MTU's 2001-02 season. Paul, a 1998 draft pick of the Canucks,
went directly to Vancouver's ECHL farm team, the Columbia Inferno, where he joined Inferno head coach
Scott White (former MTU assistant coach), and former MTU teammates
Matt Ulwelling and Clint Way. Paul appeared in the last three regular season games as well as the Inferno's first round
series which they lost to the PeeDee Pride three games to two. Following Columbia's elimination from
the ECHL playoffs, Paul was shipped up to Vancouver's AHL farm team
in Manitoba to help the Moose make their playoff run where he joined former MTU players Andre Savage and Jimmy Roy.
Paul arrived in time to play in the last four regular season game as well as 6 of the Moose's seven playoff
games, before they were eliminated by the eventual Calder Cup runners-up, Bridgeport Sound Tigers.....
This jersey was also worn by Bryan Helmer from 9-26-01 to 12-29-01 when he was on loan from the Vancouver Canucks.
The best clue to this is the view of the inside of the jersey where it clearly
shows a nameplate change.....
The jersey features several patches:
US / Canada flags on the left chest,
Chevrolet sponsor patch on the right chest,
Moose alternate logo on the right shoulder and the
Vancouver Canucks logo on the left shoulder.....
The antler style numbers are three color sewn twill and the
name (on nameplate) is single color sewn twill.....
Jersey has light overall wear with one repair near the lace up neck.....
Supplied with Moose official team letter of authenticity.....
Obtained from the Manitoba Moose in May 2002.
