Michigan Tech Huskies

  • 1990-91
  • Size XL Hooters Mesh
  • Neck tagging detail
  • Hooters logos on hem & body seam
  • WCHA patch on right chest
  • This jersey may be recycled. This set of jerseys was first worn in 1989-90 when #10 was worn by MTU's all-time top scoring defenseman - Kip Noble. The nameplate on this jersey does not match the other two we have owned (#22 John Young, #24 Jim Storm). The strange part is the the Young and Storm jerseys have identical nameplates and similar (higher) locations when compared with the McEwen jersey, however Storm was a frosh along with McEwen in 1990-91 so it is unknown why their jerseys would not be identical. Hugh played three seasons for the Huskies, posting 16 points (9G 7A) in 48 career games.

For some reason, this set of jerseys doesn't show much in terms of stick/puck marks, but they all have their share of team repairs and this one is no exception with a dozen in various locations..... Neck tagging consists of a Hooters Sportswear tag as well as three smaller flag tags which contain washing instructions, jersey size and a small US flag..... Hooters logo on the back hem of the jersey..... WCHA logo embroiderd in gold on a white patch which is in turn sewn to the mesh jersey..... A small Hooters logo is placed in the exterior of the jersey hem by using a small flag tag..... Tie down strap in these jerseys were a two-peice design..... All numbers on the jersey (back, front and sleeves) are done in two color sewn twill..... Player name on the back is also done in two color sewn twill and placed on a nameplate. An interesting note is that the nameplate material does not match the jersey on the four we have seen. (Images of numbers and name taken from #24 Jim Storm jersey)..... Obtained from a private collector in March 2000.
