John spent four years at Michigan Tech and certainly left his mark on the MTU record books. When he departed,
John was 4th all-time in scoring (210 points), 2nd all-time in assists (149) and held the team record for most assists in a period (3).
In addition Young was Honorable Mention All-WCHA in 1991, 1992, and Second Team All-WCHA in 1993
as well as two-time winner of the Merv Youngs award as the Huskies most valuable player in 1992 and 1993.
Although not much in term of stick marks, the jersey has over a dozen team repairs.....
Neck tagging consists of a Hooters Sportswear tag
as well as three smaller flag tags which contain washing instructions, jersey size and a small US flag.....
Hooters logo on the back hem of the jersey.....
WCHA logo embroiderd in gold on a white patch
which is in turn sewn to the mesh jersey.....
A small Hooters logo is placed in the exterior of the jersey hem by using a small
flag tag.....
Tie down strap in these jerseys were a two-peice design.....
All numbers on the jersey (back,
front and
sleeves) are done in two color sewn twill.....
Player name on the back is also done in two color sewn twill and placed
on a nameplate. An interesting note is that the nameplate material does not match the jersey on the four we have seen.
